Cross Country
Cross-country skiing is a speciality of Nordic skiing where competitors use sticks and narrow skis with bindings that allow you to lift the heel. The races take place on well-prepared tracks on flat or hilly areas: the athlete who travels the chosen distance in the shortest possible time wins. There are two techniques: classic, and free technique.

Age & Categories
Masters competitors must have reached their 30th birthday by December 31st of the year prior to the competition
to be permitted to take part in the WWMG. The age at this date further defines the athletes age category. Age groups
can be combined depending on the number of entries in each age group, but medals will be awarded according
to the registration categories.
Classes Individual Competitions
Competitors are divided into four separate menโs and womenโs classes based on the sum of the ages of all team members
| Class W/M 30 | 30 to 34 years |
| Class W/M 35 | 35 to 39 years |
| Class W/M 40 | 40 to 44 years |
| Class W/M 45 | 45 to 49 years |
| Class W/M 50 | 50 to 54 years |
| Class W/M 55 | 55 to 59 years |
| Class W/M 60 | 60 to 64 years |
| Class W/M 65 | 65 to 69 years |
| Class W/M 70 | 70 to 74 years |
| Class W/M 75 | 75 to 79 years |
| Class W/M 80 | 80 to 84 years |
| Class W/M 85 | 85 to 89 years |
| Class W/M 90+ | 90 + years |

In the next edition of World Winter Master Games Lombardia 2024, will participate thousands of athletes coming from all over the world. Several sport disciplines in which over thirty will compete in exciting challenges: alpine ski, biathlon, cross country ski, curling, figure skating, hockey, nordic combined, short track, ski jumping, mountaineering ski, ski orienteering, snowboard, , snow running, snow volley and speed skating.
