Description
Nestling at the very heart of the Alps and capital of the Province, Sondrio is particularly central to Valtellina and yet is a town subject to constant change with a wealth of beauty. Very much a centre for services and the administrative headquarters but it’s also an Alpine centre for culture and nature, with quality cuisine and wine experiences and endless opportunities for leisure times devoted to walks, outings within nature, cycle paths, museums, and a range of regular events. The historic centre will both enchant and astonish with its unanticipated glimpses revealing churches, historic shops, ancient stately mansions, and is the ideal setting out point for reaching remarkable places of cultural interest, immersed in the engaging atmosphere of the mountains: you’ll find vineyards, ancient villages and noble residences.
