WWMG 2024 Lombardia

From 12th to 21st January 2024 Lombardy will host the next staging of the Winter World Master Games 2024.

The most important winter sports event in the world reserved for athletes "Over 30". Thousands of athletes, enthusiasts and volunteers will invigorate all the venues of the event which will adopt "sport for all ages and for life" as its core values.

Localities

  • Aprica

    Historic Alpine resort, host of the Ski World Cup, it boasts the longest illuminated slope in Europe. It is located along the alpine pass bearing the same name that connects Valtellina and Valcamonica and is an ideal mountain destination for families, with a wide range of outdoor activities.

  • Bormio

    Every year, the noted "Stelvio" slope takes the stage for Ski World Cup. A genuine haven of relaxation, sport, good cuisine, Bormio boasts pristine white valleys, a thousand year-old history and the largest thermal park in the Alps. Appreciate the colours and scents of the mountains whatever the season.

  • Chiavenna

    The little town will host the hockey competitions in the splendid Palazzo del Ghiaccio framed by the Rhaetian Alps. Celebrated for its cultural and artistic beauty, its rich gastronomic tradition and slow pace, Chiavenna is both Citta Slow and flies the Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club. A gem of authenticity combining art, history and gastronomy.

  • Chiesa in Valmanenco

    Scene of the World Cup for both Snowboard and Freestyle ski, Chiesa in V. is the principal tourist resort of Valmalenco in both winter and summer. A locality at the very heart of an evocative yet unspoiled nature, it's a genuine paradise for ski and winter sports enthusiasts.

  • Madesimo

    One of the most celebrated ski areas within the Alpine panorama, it will be the base for curling competition in the recently renovated Palazzo del Ghiaccio. Madesimo is situated in Valchiavenna and offers endless opportunities for lovers of outdoor mountain activities.

  • Pellizzano

    Pellizzano is a charming village located in a flat plane on the two banks of the Noce stream at Val di Sole, in the Trentino region. Famous for its ski jumping and Nordic combined, it's the perfect spot for a holiday combining relaxation, sport and food and wine.

  • Ponte di Legno - Tonale

    One of the most popular ski destinations in the entire Alps, boasting 100 km of slopes and excellent trails for ski mountaineering and snow racquet itineraries, it's a real favourite with lovers of the mountains and the magic they display all the year round. Thanks to the Presena Glacier at 3,000 metres. you can ski here from autumn through to late spring.

  • Sondrio

    Sondrio is where the inaugural ceremony of the WWMG Lombardy 2024 will take place. Valtellina's very centre of gravity. Gateway to Valmalenco. Sondrio is the guardian of a precious historical and cultural heritage, as well as the scene of any number of events.

  • Vermiglio

    Situated at the northern end of the Val di Sole in Trentino, amongst imposing mountains, meadows and streams forming part of the Pontedilegno-Tonale area and is a vital reference point for Nordic skiing but also to enjoy the delights of Trentino gastronomy whilst discovering its history and traditions.
